BROWN CARAWAY SEED LOAF

A lovely dense loaf with a mild aniseed flavour – A one bowl mix and bake.

Ingredients

  • 240g Nutty wheat flour
  • 240g brown flour
  • 1 tsp toasted caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 7ml bi-carb
  • 500ml natural yoghurt with live cultures
  • ¾ sultanas
  • Pumpkin seeds for sprinkling on top

Method

1. Preheat oven 180º C

2. Mix all the ingredients together, spoon into a greased loaftin and bake for 1 hour or until a skewer pressed into it the middle of the loaf comes out clean.

3. Cool on a wire cooling rack

4. Serve with a lashing of cold butter and slabs of mature cheddar cheese
